NFTCH NAFTCH FTCH AFTCH Clubmead's Steel Magnolia

March 22, 1995 - April 24, 2004

Maggie was born of parents who were both top Junior dogs in Canada, her sire being
2X NAFC 2X NAFTCH FC Ebonstar Lean Mac. Early on, she showed both excellent marking and a talent in the water.

She competed in Junior stakes in Canada at a young age and finished #4 Junior dog in Canada in 1996. In the winter of 1996/97, she ran some American Derbies and made the 1997 U.S. Derby list in only six trials.

Maggie's Qualifying career was short - only four trials with back to back wins.

Her all-age career was very successful. In 1999, Maggie was Number One Open Female in Canada. In 2000, she continued her consistency, earning top All-Age dog in Alberta, #6 Open and #6 Combined All-Age dog in Canada. In 2003, she again was top All-Age dog in Alberta, #3 Open and Amateur, #2 Combined All-Age dog in Canada.

In 2001, a dream come true, Maggie won the 2001 Canadian National Retriever Championship. Then, in 2003 she won the Canadian National Amateur Retriever Championship. She qualified for twelve Canadian and four U.S. Nationals and was a finalist in the last five Canadian Nationals that she ran. Also in 2003, Maggie accumulated the milestone of over 100 all-age points and was #2 Combined All-Age dog in Canada.

We lost her too soon, but will forever remember her spirit, courage and sense of humour.
As well as being a great champion, she was our friend.
